Nian Gallery in the heart of Tehran, as a dynamic and vibrant art space, has hosted one of Elham Heydarpoor's prominent paintings. This group exhibition, titled "Your Iran," provides an exceptional opportunity to view paintings by contemporary artists. Elham Heydarpoor is an artist who has been professionally involved in painting for almost 15 years and is among the artists participating in this exhibition. In this exhibition, Nian Gallery has created a space where art, history, and society intertwine, inviting the audience on a profound journey into the heart of national concepts. This exhibition not only introduces artworks but also provides a platform for dialogue about contemporary social and cultural issues in Iran. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to interact with the artists about their creative process and inspirations.

The Artist's Artistic Space

Elham Heydarpoor's space is primarily symbolic, and while preserving objective forms, it is influenced by social, cultural issues, and the current conditions of society. In her paintings, she narrates stories that are hidden within her community. With a deep look at her surroundings, Heydarpoor invites the audience to ponder and reflect on the atmosphere of the artwork. In this artist's paintings, concepts such as freedom, tradition, national identity, and ideology are chosen as the main themes and are conveyed using signs that are recorded in the visual memory of the audience. For example, the use of the Azadi Tower, which is a symbol of the homeland, is seen in her painting. This tower, along with the title of freedom, helps to understand the artist's concern in the painting's space. The arched frame at the top of the painting, along with the dark gray background, immerses the viewer in an onslaught of memories of the homeland in its contemporary history.
What the audience observes in the image is a volume that is initially created by Heydarpoor and then depicted in the form of a painting. In fact, the process of creating the artwork in this artist goes through several stages, including painting and volume. [1] In this regard, Heydarpoor tries to encourage her audience to explore their own identity and society by creating an emotional connection between her work and them. By using color techniques that lead to construction in painting, she depicts deep human emotions and invites viewers to think about topics such as national identity, cultural heritage, and social challenges. She creates a state of suspense in her workspace, during which the audience encounters a context of social events and complications, and also places an image of contemporary history before their eyes. This encounter not only reminds us of historical moments but also invites us to think and reflect on the future that awaits us.
