The Starry Night
The Starry Night, designed in 1889, is considered one of his most famous works and is in the top 10 paintings in the world; but what is interesting is that Van Gogh's setting for painting The Starry Night was choosing the bright days of the day and he was able to leave an extraordinary work using the power of his imagination. This painting was also painted on canvas during the days when he lived in the mental asylum of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France.
Many artists and people who see this painting believe that he had a great interest in astronomy and was able to accurately depict the position of the moon and stars using the Griffith Observatory.
Sunflowers
Van Gogh, nicknamed the painter of still life, painted a painting called Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers on canvas. This beautiful work is world-renowned for its natural and vibrant color. This painting was also painted in 1888, and a year later Van Gogh introduced The Starry Night to the art world.
The painting Sunflowers was purchased by a Japanese investor in 1987 for $40 million and was recognized as the most expensive painting in the world at that time; but then, two years later, Van Gogh's Irises broke this record!
Irises
The third painting on the list of Van Gogh's paintings is Irises, painted in 1889. Vincent van Gogh died in 1900 and believed that his painting talent could be a point full of hope against the diseases he had. Also, in addition to the Irises, this painting is also known as a lightning rod for my illness, the reason for which can be attributed to the perspective he gained in the asylum.
As we mentioned above, the painting Irises broke the price record of Sunflowers and sold for about $54 million in 1987.
